The Corporate Structure of Formula One

Several years ago, I put together a recipe for mapping company networks based on co-directorships, connecting companies who shared a minimum number of current directors under the assumption that common directors between companies might be suggestive of a relationship in terms of corporate structure between those companies.

Over the last few days, I dusted of the recipe and reimplemented it using the Companies House API (my original code used data from OpenCorporates). Here's a quick sketch of the some of the companies - and how they're linked by common directors - seeded from a list of companies currently directed by one Bernard Ecclestone:
